Edward Cooke Quiz Night raises over £1000 for local Chichester charity

The team at Edward Cooke Family Law were proud to host a successful Charity Quiz night last week, bringing together an eager group of participants all keen to put their knowledge to the test and be crowned winners!  The wonderful group of friends and business colleagues who came to support the event, taking part not only in the quiz but also in the raffle, raised a fantastic £1,087.60 on the night. Congratulations and thank you to all, this money will make such a difference to our nominated charity, The Young People’s Shop in Chichester

The Young People’s Shop, Chichester

The quiz night event was conceived in the summer when the team chose to support The Young People’s Shop, a local charity providing free Counselling, Emotional Support, Advice and Guidance to any young person aged between 11 and 25 years old in Chichester and the surrounding areas.

The Young People’s Shop (formerly The Chichester Information Shop) recognises that life can feel difficult and overwhelming sometimes and provides a safe space for young people to turn to when they are feeling anxious. We recognise the importance of emotional support for young people, particularly during times of challenge including divorce and separation, and were keen to raise money for the charity to help them continue to provide as much help as possible.

Raffle prizes galore

Local firms were incredibly generous with their donations for the quiz night raffle, with prizes including a Luckes luxury food hamper, a Vineyard tour and wine tasting at Ashling Park, Afternoon tea for two at Park House Hotel in Bepton, a family day out at Weald & Downland Museum, New Park cinema vouchers (for a family of 5), Goodwood Health Club and Spa day pass (x4),  a Personal Training session with wellbeing coach Simon Webster,a bottle of local Chilgrove Gin ( of course given the location of our office there!). Thank you to all those companies who were so generous in their support.

A delicious fish and chip supper was provided by the one and only LA Fish, who have been serving up quality fish and chips and a warm welcome in Chichester for over 40 years.

Celebrating a successful Charity Quiz Night

Appropriately enough given the cause, the team from The Young People’s Shop actually came first in the quiz, much to the disappointment of a highly competitive field of local solicitors, barristers, accountants and other professionals!

Catherine Burnard from The Young People’s Shop was thrilled with the success of the evening and commented:

“Thank you so much for putting on the quiz to raise funds for YPS! We are so grateful to Edward Cooke Family Law and to all those who came along for your support in raising vital funds for our charity . We also really enjoyed taking part in the quiz on the night!”

Edward Cooke commented:

“Thank you to everyone who came out to support the evening, to our team for organising the event alongside a busy workload and to the generous sponsors of the raffle prizes. Not only was it a fun social gathering, we raised an incredible sum to support The Young People’s Shop and help them to continue their great work. We recognise that emotional support for young people is so important and know what a positive impact The Young People’s Shop has. It was our pleasure to arrange the evening to support them.”
