Edward Cooke and Charlotte Bradley share key findings from Family Solution's Group report
17 June 2026
Edward Cooke (Founder and Managing Director, Edward Cooke Family Law) and Charlotte Bradley (Senior Consultant, Kingsley Napley), co-authors of the Family Solutions Group’s new report, "Putting Children First: The evolving role of the family law professional" share key findings and what it means for family law professionals in this month’s edition of Resolution’s The Review Magazine.
The FSG report suggests that family law is at a pivotal moment, and more needs to be done to continue to bring about a change to a more solution-focused, less adversarial system.
In their article, the Edward and Charlotte explore the survey findings and implications for family law professionals, including recommendations centred around responsibility to children, child welfare, voice of the child, training and supervision.
The article notes Sir Andrew McFarlane’s address welcoming the report, in which he stressed the need for a change of culture across society, government and the legal professional, to seek out non court resolution options. Moving away from our traditional adversarial model “may well have some resistance from lawyers”, he said, but “We need to be serving the clients and serving the children in
the most effective way.”
