A new chapter for Edward Cooke Family Law

We are delighted to announce further growth for the firm, with two key appointments to our leadership team. Today, Edward Cooke Family Law is joined by both Richard Adams and Katherine Bolton.

Richard Adams
Partner, Family Solicitor, Mediator and Collaborative Lawyer

Having developed a formidable reputation as a family lawyer, accredited mediator and collaborative lawyer in Brighton and across the southern counties, we are thrilled that Richard Adams is joining us as a Partner.

Richard is particularly invested in helping people navigate separation and divorce with as little conflict and court involvement as possible, mirroring the Edward Cooke Family Law philosophy.

Highly regarded across the profession, he is a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 2026 and Doyles Guide 2026 and has just won the NCDR Practitioner of the Year Award at the Resolution Awards 2026.

Richard joins fellow Partner Lauren Guy in the Brighton office, responding to increased demand and underlining the firm’s leading role on the South Coast.

Katherine Bolton
Marketing and Development Director

Katherine has worked with us since 2018, steering our branding, website and marketing strategy from the outset. Originally in a freelance capacity, she has supported our growth with outstanding content, events, press and communications.

As the firm continues to grow rapidly, we are delighted that Katherine is now formally joining the team as our Marketing and Development Director. This role will see her provide enhanced support to our team, driving marketing and business development activity as well as internal communications and culture, as we continue to build our profile across the region.

Katherine is a marketer with 25 years’ experience, spanning both in-house and agency roles.
