Grace Parker-White and Jamilla Sabo qualify as Collaborative Lawyers

We are delighted to announce that Grace Parker-White and Jamilla Sabo have both completed the Collaborative Law training with Resolution and are now fully qualified Collaborative Lawyers. Congratulations to them both on becoming collaborative practitioners.

As a firm we now have a team of nine lawyers including seven now trained in collaborative law and five mediators. Supporting our solicitors in their ongoing development reenforces our commitment to non-court dispute resolution for family law matters, helping individuals and families to achieve the best outcomes for their circumstances in the most effective and constructive way possible, keep children at the centre of the process.

Edward Cooke, Managing Director and fellow Collaborative Lawyer commented:

“Both Grace and Jamilla are fully committed to using non-court dispute resolution approaches wherever possible in their day-to-day practice and this is a central tenet of our work and the philosophy of all solicitors at Edward Cooke Family Law.

When I set up the firm seven years ago, I made a positive decision that every family lawyer in our team would either be trained collaboratively or as a mediator (or both), and since joining the firm, every lawyer in the team has undertaken one of these two excellent training courses.

This is not just a substantial investment in the lawyers concerned but also most importantly for the countless families they have been able to help over the years to reach better resolution of their issues out of court.

I am delighted that Grace and Jamilla have achieved this qualification and are already putting this approach into practice to further enhance the support they are able to offer clients.”

Collaborative Law Explained

Collaborative Law offers separating or divorcing couples the change to reach their own solutions, based on shared needs and aspirations, with dignity and respect. This is achieved through a series of roundtable meetings, supported by specialist collaborative family lawyers and other professionals such as family consultants and financial neutrals.

Congratulations again to Grace and Jamilla on their achievement.
